HOME-MADE AUTHORITY

Ooookay... this is an odd one. Number one, I'm not really sure exactly the extent to which Scott Ayers is involved in this: he's credited solely with engineering rhythm tracks on two songs ("Pass for Normal" and "Tunnel of Blood" -- Frank Garrymartin plays drums and Ralf Armin plays bass on these two as well, making them practically Pain Teens tracks), but rumor has it that he actually plays here and there all over the place and doesn't take credit for "legal reasons." The mythology of Culturecide dictates that they originally played by rapping, shouting, or singing over pre-existing tracks by other bands, although I don't know that any of this material is actually only this CD. However, one of the guys in the "lineup" inside the booklet looks awfully familiar (is that Scott?), and the guitar stylings on several tracks sound like something that might have come from Scott's guitar. So who knows? Not I, that's for sure. The disc in general sounds like twisted semi-melodic punk with elements of rap and pop and general weirdness. I don't know if this is a reissue of the original album, or a reissue of the original plus new stuff, or a brand new album; information is skimy and contradictory at best....
