OTHER APPEARANCES

Chinawhite:

At one time RKF's was known on the internet as "chinawhite," a name that was eventually discontinued due to confusion with the punk band Chinawhite and misconceptions regarding the name. RKF's first-ever recorded appearance (in 1994) was under this name.

CASSETTES:

REPERCUSSION [Spilling Audio] ("bring me the head of the sno-cone girl")

Cataract:

Autodidact actually evolved out of this "band," and eventually took over. No Cataract material has ever been officially released, although a few demos (each one consisting mostly of re-recorded versions of material from the first one plus the occasional new song) do exist. Some of the better Cataract material may eventually appear in reworked configurations as Autodidact tracks. All the demos were released 1995-1996.

DEMOS:

DEAD MAN DOWN (C-90)
MORE SONGS ABOUT DEATH, CASTRATION ANXIETY, ETC. (C-60)
DEATH IS MY HEADLESS CHINA DOLL (C-60)

Chinahaus:

RKF teamed up with Spilling Audio mastermind Eric Hausmann in 1995 to record one willfully eccentric cassette, BARBIE-Q. A second cassette, THE DOPE SMOKES POPE, was planned (and RKF recorded backing tracks for it) but never happened for mysterious reasons. Eric Hausmann and Spilling Audio have resurfaced and BARBIE-Q will be coming out on CD-R from Spilling Audio shortly. Eric and I have also resumed planning for the aborted second release, which should also come out on Spilling Audio, assuming we actually get it done.

Cervical Third:

In 1995, RKF and grievous were pooting around and created a handful of deathnoise tracks that were subsequently going to be redone along with some other new ones, but then grievous disappeared into the black hills of New Jersey with the "master tapes" (using the term loosely). Three or four tracks remain, all but one of which are essentially too poorly-recorded to ever see the light of day. One may show up somewhere eventually. (He's since turned up again, but plans for reviving Cervical Third have been deep-sixed forever due to our ongoing disgust with the hideous quality of the tapes.)

Saligaud:

A noise-laden collaboration with Antibody.

CASSETTES:

DEATH IS OUR ONLY EXCUSE (1998) [Loud Cat]

DR:OP:FR:AM+E:

Autodidact is sampled early on in the first track from the DR:OP:FR:AM+E release THE RULE OF CAPTURE (2001, Monotremata).

The Ice Machine:

The Ice Machine was a brief offshoot of Autodidact, designed expressly for playing live with only three guitars in addition to a drum/bass rhythm section. The project is now in limbo, although some of the tunes from its demo, EVERY GOOD BOY DESERVES DISCIPLINE, will probably show up elsewhere eventually.
